OUTDOOR ADVENTURES

A Nature‑Powered Adventure for Youth

Step into the forest. Step into the story. Step into your strength.

The Outdoor Adventures Program is a guided outdoor experience designed for youth who want to explore nature, build confidence, and discover the mental‑health benefits of spending time on the land. This program blends storytelling, culture, wildfire awareness, and hands‑on learning into one unforgettable journey.

What Is the Wild and Immersive Walk?

It’s more than a walk through the woods. It’s a chance to reconnect—with nature, with community, and with yourself.

Youth join the FireGuardians team on a guided walk through the forest, where they learn about:

  • The power of nature to support mental health and emotional well‑being

  • Local plants, wildlife, and ecosystems

  • Indigenous knowledge and land‑based teachings

  • Wildfire awareness and outdoor safety

  • Leadership, teamwork, and confidence‑building skills

Through interactive storytelling, creative challenges, and quiet moments of reflection, participants experience the forest in a whole new way.

Why It Matters

Young people today face constant pressure, digital overload, and rising stress. Time in nature has been shown to:

  • Reduce anxiety and stress

  • Improve focus and emotional balance

  • Strengthen resilience and self‑esteem

  • Encourage physical activity and healthy habits

  • Build a sense of belonging and connection

The Outdoor Adventures Program gives youth a safe, supportive space to breathe, explore, and grow.

Who Can Join?

This program is open to:

  • Youth ages 8–18

  • Schools and classrooms

  • Indigenous youth programs

  • Community groups and youth organizations

  • Families seeking meaningful outdoor experiences

No outdoor experience is required. All walks are guided by trained facilitators.
